Among the most fascinating places in Matera, the Cava del Sole David Sassoli is a former open-air tuff quarry transformed into a spectacular arena for concerts and events. Its golden stone walls create unique acoustics and atmosphere, which every summer provide the backdrop for the city's major musical events, on the SS7 Via Appia.

The 2026 Season

The 2026 lineup for Cava del Sole confirms Matera's role as a nationally significant stage, with a calendar ranging from authorial pop to great Italian songs. Among the announced headliners are Angelina Mango, a young talent of Lucanian origins, Massimo Ranieri with his timeless repertoire, Antonello Venditti with the 'Daje! Live Summer Tour 2026', and the comic-musical duo Oesais by Antonio Stornaiolo and Emilio Solfrizzi.

The season fits into the special atmosphere of 2026, the year Matera is the Mediterranean Capital of Culture and Dialogue.
