The distributed festival that transforms the town into a space for artistic discovery
The Casalserugo Art Festival is a free and distributed cultural event that every spring transforms the small Municipality of Casalserugo, in the province of Padua, into a large open-air laboratory. Born to bring art back to the centre of village life, the festival is organized by the Associazione Culturale Fantalica APS ETS together with the Hangar 9 space, with the patronage and support of the Municipality of Casalserugo.
The festival's peculiarity lies precisely in its itinerant nature: events are not concentrated in a single theatre but traverse the symbolic places of the town and the hamlet of Ronchi. Among the venues involved are the Hangar 9 cultural centre, the patronato and auditorium of the Centro AVE, the library housed in the historic Villa Ferri, the small square Cesarotti, and the parish centre of San Martino in Ronchi. Familiar or hidden spaces that, thanks to art, become opportunities for meeting and knowledge.
The programme alternates different languages: artistic workshops for children and young people, contemporary dance performances, concerts, theatre productions, photographic exhibitions, guided tours, and conferences. Each edition revolves around a theme that guides the selection of events and invites the community to look at their surroundings with new eyes. The philosophy is clear: not passive spectators, but active citizens, called to participate and rediscover their own territory.
The 2026 edition of the Casalserugo Art Festival is titled "Revelations. The Extraordinary Before Our Eyes": an invitation to look at our surroundings with new eyes, to meet new artists and re-read figures from the past, experiencing the places of the town as stages for relationships and discovery. The festival unfolds over two weekends โ May 8, 9, 10, and May 15, 16, 17 โ for a total of eleven free events, with some musical appendices (school concerts) in the following weeks.
The festival is organized by the Fantalica APS association together with Hangar 9, with the patronage of the Municipality of Casalserugo and the collaboration of numerous local entities.
Events take place in multiple venues in Casalserugo and the hamlet of Ronchi: Hangar 9, Centro AVE, Villa Ferri Library, Cesarotti square, San Martino parish centre.
Most events are free; some require booking due to limited seating.
Casalserugo is about 10 km south of Padua and can be reached by car from the SS516 or by intercity public transport.
