Jazz as a Community Celebration

The Casalmaggiore Jazz Day is the event with which Casalmaggiore, in the Province of Cremona, annually participates in International Jazz Day promoted by UNESCO. More than a festival in the classic sense, it is a grand collective celebration: over forty volunteer musicians, professionals and amateurs from the area, take the stage at the Municipal Theatre, playing together for the pleasure of sharing music with the city.

Biblio in Jazz Previews

Over the years, the event has been enriched with previews: Biblio in Jazz is a series of concerts that "warm up the engines" for the main evening, hosted in the evocative setting of the Mortara Civic Library. These are more intimate events that introduce the audience to the language of jazz in a personal and cultural context.

A Tradition Returning to its Origins

Now in its fifteenth edition, the Casalmaggiore Jazz Day was born from the passion of a group of local musicians and enthusiasts. The edition celebrating fifteen years wanted to honour the project's origins, bringing Biblio in Jazz back to the places where it all began. The connection with the library and the city's theatre makes this event an important part of Casalmaggiore's cultural life.

Free Admission and Popular Spirit

Consistent with its participatory nature, the main concert is free admission with a donation suggested: a way to keep music accessible to everyone and to reaffirm the popular festival spirit that animates the initiative. The Casalmaggiore Jazz Day is today one of the most anticipated musical events of spring in the Oglio Po area.
