Three days of street food in San Basilio, in Rome's Fourth Municipality
The Casal Tidei TTS Street Food is the Roman stop of the TTS Food traveling format, which for three days turns the large Via Casal Tidei square—usually home to the local market—into an open-air culinary hub. We are in the San Basilio district, located between Via Nomentana and Via Tiburtina, in Rome's Fourth Municipality, within the Metropolitan City of Rome Capital, Lazio. It is a suburban area that, thanks to this event, regains a vibrant neighborhood festival atmosphere for a weekend.
The heart of the event lies in the selection of exhibitors: more than twenty mobile kitchens and food trucks chosen by the organizers, each offering its own specialty. The menu spans the entire peninsula and reaches well beyond national borders.
Alongside the food stalls is the beverage area. The Bavarian craft beer from Landshuter Brauhaus is a staple of the format, joined by the Drink Lab, a cocktail bar managed by expert mixologists in collaboration with the Campari group, serving spritzes and signature mixed drinks. Water is served in recyclable Tetra Pak cartons, a choice adopted by the organizers to reduce plastic waste.
The square is set up with decorative lighting, a sound system, and numerous areas with tables and seating: the concept is that of a large open-air restaurant where people can eat at their leisure and stay until late at night. The atmosphere is intentionally family-friendly and suitable for all ages, with spaces designed for those arriving with children.
The first edition took place in September 2023 and was met with enthusiasm by local residents; the event returned in June 2024 and was repeated in June 2026 for its third edition. The format is held under the patronage of Rome's Fourth Municipality and is part of a series of initiatives designed to restore social and recreational opportunities to the capital's peripheral neighborhoods, which are often underserved by the city's event calendar.
The Casal Tidei TTS Street Food is neither a traditional local product fair nor a gourmet food festival: it is a popular, free, and unpretentious event that focuses on the quality of mobile kitchens and a convivial atmosphere. For those living in the northeast quadrant of Rome, it is the easiest way to enjoy a dinner out of the ordinary; for visitors, it is a way to discover a part of the city far from the tourist circuits, where street food acts as a social glue.
From June 12th to 14th, 2026, the Via Casal Tidei square in San Basilio hosted the third edition of the street food village by TTS Food, following the 2023 and 2024 events. Opening time was set at 5:00 PM for all three days, with closing at midnight and free entry.
Over twenty mobile kitchens offered Italian regional specialties and international dishes, from Apulian bombette to Sicilian arancini, from Abruzzese arrosticini to Mexican tacos, with vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free alternatives. The beverage area brought together craft beer from Landshuter Brauhaus and cocktails prepared by Drink Lab bartenders in collaboration with the Campari group. Decorative lighting, music, and large areas with tables completed the setup, confirming the formula that has made the event a highly anticipated appointment in the Fourth Municipality.
Scenic setup with light effects, background music, and numerous areas with tables and seating distributed across the square. All operators worked in accordance with HACCP procedures and required health and safety checks.
