Classical music in the courtyard of Palazzo Scotti da Vigoleno
The Carpaneto Music Festival was founded in 2019 with a clear objective: to enrich the musical offerings of the Carpaneto Piacentino area, in the province of Piacenza, and to affirm the irreplaceability of live music as an occasion for shared encounter and emotion. Now in its eighth edition in 2026, it has become a reference point for classical music enthusiasts in Emilia-Romagna and beyond.
The heart of the festival is the evocative courtyard of Palazzo Scotti da Vigoleno, now the seat of the Town Hall, which overlooks Piazza XX Settembre. The historic setting of the palace, with its elegant architecture, becomes an open-air concert hall for a few summer evenings: an intimate and secluded place, ideal for listening to classical music under the stars.
The festival is led by artistic director Tatiana Alquati, harpist and composer, who gives the event a personal touch: classical music is presented in a dynamic and always current way, capable of speaking to both connoisseurs and a wider audience. The programming ranges from the great Italian operatic tradition to chamber repertoire, up to contemporary sounds and arrangements that cross genres.
Each edition offers a listening experience designed to take the audience on a real journey through sounds: piano recitals, harp concerts, chamber duos, vocal ensembles, and quartets ranging from classical music to great hits of popular music, reinterpreted with the sensitivity of classical music. The free admission to many events makes the festival accessible to all.
The event is organized by the THAM Project17 Association in collaboration with the Municipality of Carpaneto Piacentino, with the support of the Fondazione di Piacenza e Vigevano and local sponsors. A virtuous example of how a small community in the province of Piacenza can build, year after year, a cultural event of recognized quality.
The VIII edition of the Carpaneto Music Festival 2026 is structured into three evening events in the courtyard of Palazzo Scotti da Vigoleno, in Carpaneto Piacentino. Under the artistic direction of Tatiana Alquati, the festival spans different genres and languages: from Italian opera to chamber repertoire, to cultured reinterpretations of great popular music hits. All events remain free and open to a wider audience.
All concerts are held in the courtyard of Palazzo Scotti da Vigoleno. For start times and updated details, please refer to the festival's official page.
