Carnival in an Irpinian Village

After the abolition of feudalism in 1806, Castel Baronia officially became part of the province of Avellino in 1926.

Those visiting for Carnival can take the opportunity to walk through its most significant sites: the Church of Santa Maria delle Fratte, with its Gothic structure, which houses an 18th-century altar and a venerated medieval sacred icon; Palazzo Mancini, an 18th-century building that now serves as the town hall and the birthplace of Pasquale Stanislao Mancini (1817-1888), a jurist and statesman who served multiple times as a minister of the Kingdom of Italy; and the Lavatoio Fountain, at the entrance to the town, a testament to the daily life of the past.
