A Child-Friendly Carnival

In the heart of the Marche region, perched on a hilltop between the Chifenti, Pioppo, and Volubile streams, the village of Appignano del Tronto (Province of Ascoli Piceno) celebrates Carnival with an event entirely dedicated to children: Carnevale Kids. For an entire afternoon, the central Piazza Umberto I becomes, as described by the Pro Loco, "a magical kingdom of fun and joy," where children can experience the magic of Carnival in a safe, festive setting designed just for them.

Confetti, Masks, and Entertainment

The atmosphere is typical of Marche village festivals: lots of masked children, confetti and streamers, music, and entertainment filling the square. It's a moment of social gathering for families from the village and surrounding areas, an opportunity to come together outdoors and share the lightheartedness of the Carnival season. Participation is free and open to all.

An Event by the Pro Loco

Carnevale Kids is organized by Pro Loco Appignano del Tronto APS, the association that has been enlivening the cultural life of the Municipality for years with a rich calendar of initiatives, from the evocative Procession of the Old Year at the end of December to the summer ParatÒ Festival. Among its missions is also to ensure that "children learn to know and love the riches of our land": the Carnival for the little ones fits perfectly into this philosophy, intertwining play, community, and tradition.

Appignano del Tronto, a Village to Discover

The festival is also an opportunity to discover a small gem of the Piceno area. The historic center of Appignano del Tronto retains a medieval urban layout of narrow, winding alleys, stone houses, and charming small squares. Not to be missed are the Church of San Giovanni Battista, with its 14th-century bell tower and Renaissance rose window, the Romanesque-Gothic Church of San Michele Arcangelo, and the Church of Santa Maria del Piano Santo. A setting that makes a family festival day in the heart of the Marche even more special.
