About Carnevâl a Nimis

The Carnevâl a Nimis transforms Piazza XXIX Settembre into a grand masked party. Between the parade of floats, the Trenino del Gusto (gourmet train), live music evenings under the heated marquee, and the final Marakaibo Masked Party, the carnival of the Torre hills combines tradition, delicious food, and fun for all ages.

The carnival of the Torre hills

When February arrives, Nimis—a town in the eastern hills of Friuli, in the province of Udine—dresses up for its Carnevâl. The heart of the event is Piazza XXIX Settembre, where a large heated marquee hosts stalls, music, and masks for several days of merriment, organised by the Pro Loco of Nimis.

Floats, taste, and masks

The programme offers moments for all tastes. The Trenino del Gusto is a gastronomic tour by reservation, with eight stops in the town to savour local specialities. Sunday is dedicated to the parade of floats and masks, with contests for the most beautiful mask and the most original masked group. For children, there are magic shows, bubble performances, and freestyle football exhibitions.

Evenings come alive with live music: from the Dancemania PartyBand to the Splumatz, up to the Nimis on Fire party with Radio Peter Pan Impatto. The grand finale is the Marakaibo Masked Party, filled with music, colours, and fun, including prize-giving and lottery draws.

A community celebration

More than just a parade, the Carnevâl a Nimis is a true carnival feast, blending conviviality, gastronomy, and entertainment rooted in local traditions. An event that draws families and visitors from all the Torre Valleys.
