Capitanata Sparkling Wine Festival

May 30, 2025, marked a historic date for Apulian viticulture with the birth of the Capitanata Sparkling Wine Festival in San Severo, in the province of Foggia. The first edition, promoted by the newly formed Capitanata Metodo Classico Sparkling Wine Association in collaboration with AIS Puglia, opened at 6:00 PM in the Sala Fanelli on Piazzale Cappuccini.

During the evening, experts from the University of Foggia addressed climate challenges and technical strategies to protect the quality of sparkling wine obtained from the native grapes of the Daunia region. The event then continued in the evocative setting of the Villa Comunale with a guided tasting of products from the member wineries, accompanied by a DJ set. Supporting the project, the association's president, Girolamo Fabio d'Amico, and the municipal administration of San Severo highlighted the regional identity and the international commercial potential of the sparkling wines of Capitanata.
