The cellars of Montelongo open their doors with wine, flavours, and music
Montelongo is a small hillside village in the Frentano territory, in the province of Campobasso, overlooking the hills with a view towards the sea. In August, the Paese diVino event transforms the historic centre into a widespread food and wine trail, with the village cellars open to visitors.
Along the route, you can taste the local wines and traditional Molise dishes: taralli, scarpelle, pizza with friarielli, pasta and beans, mortadella sandwich, and the characteristic wine ring cake. It's an opportunity to discover the wine production of this corner of Molise, which falls within the Biferno designation area.
The evening comes alive with music from the '70s, '80s, and '90s and DJ sets that accompany the stroll through the cellars. Paese diVino thus combines the promotion of local products with the pleasure of a village festival, on one of the most anticipated evenings of the Montelongo summer.
For summer 2026, Paese diVino renews the open cellar event in Montelongo. The food and wine trail through the streets of the historic centre offers tastings of local wines and Molise specialities โ taralli, scarpelle, pizza with friarielli, pasta and beans, wine ring cake โ while the evening continues with music from the '70s, '80s, and '90s and DJ sets. The event is confirmed in the 2026 local calendar.
Detailed hourly program with cellar stops will be released by the Pro Loco in the weeks prior.

Montelongo can be reached by car from the Adriatic coast (Termoli exit of the A14), heading up towards the hills of Fortore Molisano. The cellars and event stops are located in the historic centre.
