About Beach Volley Falconara
Falconara returns as the capital of beach volleyball
For three days, from June 12 to 14, 2026, the free beach in front of the underpass of via Goito in Falconara Marittima (Province of Ancona, Marche) will be transformed into an open-air arena for the opening round of the Italian Absolute Beach Volleyball Championship. This is the highest national circuit of the sport, organized by the Italian Volleyball Federation (FIPAV): here begins the race for the tricolore championship on the sand, in both the men's and women's brackets.
For Falconara, it's a return to its roots: already in the eighties and nineties, the city was one of the cradles of regional volleyball and beach volleyball, and this event reconnects with a tradition spanning over twenty years. The bid, submitted at the end of 2025, was awarded by the Federation, which chose the Falconara coastline to open the 2026 season.
A center court on the Adriatic Sea
The heart of the event is the Center Court set up on the beach of via Goito, alongside side courts in a modular structure capable of hosting men's and women's matches simultaneously. Over fifty pairs are expected for each bracket, for a total of more than one hundred teams with the best national players in the sport.
Sport and tourism on the Falconara coastline
The initiative, promoted by the municipal administration of Falconara Marittima together with the association ASD King of the Beach, was created with the stated goal of enhancing the territory, transforming the coastline into a space where sport meets seaside tourism. The organizing committee includes, in addition to FIPAV and King of the Beach, the Pro Loco Falconamare and the main local volleyball organizations: Volley Game, Sabini, Pallavolo Castelferretti, Esino Volley, and Beach Volley Institute. For the Federation, the event also represents an important test to assess the athletes' condition in view of the season's international commitments.
Beach Volley Falconara — edition 2026
The Falconara round officially opens the 2026 Italian Absolute Beach Volleyball Championship, the highest national circuit of the FIPAV discipline. The Center Court and side courts are set up on the beach of via Goito in a modular structure that allows men's and women's brackets to play in parallel.
Over fifty pairs are expected for each bracket, featuring the best Italian sand specialists. Among the announced protagonists is the number one women's pair, Valentina Gottardi and Reka Orsi Toth, already the reigning Italian champions in 2025. The event is organized by the Municipality of Falconara Marittima with ASD King of the Beach and a committee that brings together Pro Loco Falconamare and local clubs (Volley Game, Sabini, Pallavolo Castelferretti, Esino Volley, Beach Volley Institute).

Friday, June 12
- From 9:00 AM to 4:30 PM — 32 matches in the men's and women's brackets
Saturday, June 13
- From 8:30 AM to 6:30 PM — 40 matches; 16 pairs per bracket remain in competition
Sunday, June 14
- From 8:15 AM — 16 matches in the final phase with the top 8 pairs per bracket, leading to the finals for the round title
A total of 88 matches are scheduled throughout the weekend. The games are played on the Center Court and side courts set up on the beach of via Goito.
