The day dedicated to food, wine, and agriculture in Campagnano di Roma
In the medieval village of Campagnano di Roma, on the edge of the Veio Regional Park and about thirty kilometers north of the capital, Campagnano Land of Flavors is the event that showcases the agricultural soul of this corner of Lazio. For an entire day, the central Piazza Cesare Leonelli transforms into a grand showcase of local food and wine excellence, featuring producer stalls, guided tastings, and social gatherings that put the land and its workers at the center.
The common thread of the event is the promotion of local produce. The Farmers' Market, alongside the traditional Campagnano market, brings together exhibitors and producers from Lazio who present typical specialties, zero-mile products, and ancient varieties. Surrounding the market are tasting workshopsโtrue sensory journeys dedicated to olive oil, wine, cheese, and wild herbsโled by experts and qualified tasters who guide the public in discovering rural tastes, aromas, and knowledge.
The highlight of the day is the live cooking show with tastings, which in recent editions has featured chef and food evolutionist Fabio Campoli, offering live culinary demonstrations and samples for participants. At the table, tradition is celebrated with the midday Agricultural Lunch, a convivial occasion that brings the community together around authentic flavors, wines, and craft beers from local producers.
The event is promoted by the Municipality of Campagnano di Roma together with the Agrarian University of Campagnano, a historic institution that manages local civic and agricultural assets, with the contribution of the Lazio Region and Arsial (Regional Agency for the Development and Innovation of Agriculture in Lazio). There are also activities designed for children, with workshops that introduce new generations to themes of nature, nutrition, and respect for the land. A free-entry event that combines gastronomic culture, tradition, and food awareness in the heart of the province of Rome.
