About Caminà per Ciosa e Marina
The May 1st walk
The Caminà per Ciosa e Marina is the major non-competitive walk in Chioggia, a lagoon city in the province of Venice, which attracts thousands of walkers every May 1st. Now in its 41st edition, it is organized by ASD Marathon Cavalli Marini with the patronage of the Veneto Region and the Municipality of Chioggia.
Two routes through alleys, lagoon, and beach
The start is from Isola dell'Unione, with free departures between 8:00 AM and 9:00 AM. You can choose between two free-pace routes: one of 6 km and one of 15 km, both open to everyone, including people with disabilities. The itineraries cross the historic center of Chioggia with its alleys, the Lusenzo loop, the Sottomarina beach, and the dam, offering some of the most beautiful views of the city.
A celebration of sport and community
Before the start, at 7:30 AM, there will be a collective warm-up with Zumba and Caribbean dances. The event, supported by numerous volunteer associations such as Avis and Uildm, is now a fixture on the Chioggia calendar: in 2025, it exceeded 3,000 participants, confirming itself as one of the most attended walks in the Veneto region.
Caminà per Ciosa e Marina — edition 2026
The 2026 edition, the 41st, of the Caminà per Ciosa e Marina will be held on May 1st in Chioggia (VE). Organized by ASD Marathon Cavalli Marini with the patronage of the Veneto Region and the Municipality, it offers two free-pace routes of 6 km and 15 km starting from Isola dell'Unione between 8:00 AM and 9:00 AM. The event is supported by DMO Chioggia, Pro Loco Chioggia Sottomarina, and volunteer associations like Avis and Uildm.

How to get there
Chioggia can be reached by car from the SS309 Romea or from the A4 (Padova Est exit and then SR516). The start is from Isola dell'Unione, in the city center.
