Wine, local delicacies, and stargazing in the village of Guastameroli, Frisa
This edition has not been confirmed by the organiser to date. We recommend checking before going.
Every summer, during the second week of August, the hamlet of Guastameroli โ a charming village in the municipality of Frisa, in the province of Chieti, nestled in the hills overlooking the Costa dei Trabocchi โ lights up for Calici di Stelle in Guastameroli. This is the event where the Pro Loco Frisa APS brings the great national Italian wine festival to the heart of the village, blending the pleasure of a fine glass with the magic of the starry San Lorenzo night.
For one or two evenings, Via Belvedere and Via Filippini turn into a true wine-tourism itinerary: stalls set up along the road, local wineries pouring their reds and whites, and traditional Abruzzo snacks to accompany every sip. Access to the stands and event areas is free, allowing visitors to wander freely between glasses in the welcoming atmosphere of the historic center. The goal, true to the spirit of the Pro Loco, is to showcase the intense aromas and flavors of the best Abruzzo wines while promoting local producers and products.
The formula combines tastings, local gastronomy, and live music, with the village buzzing until late at night. It is no coincidence that the event falls during the Perseids meteor shower: stargazing is an integral part of the evening, following the tradition of Calici di Stelle, the widespread event promoted by the Movimento Turismo del Vino and the Cittร del Vino network, which engages wineries and villages across Italy every August to celebrate wine culture and astronomy together.
Guastameroli, with its panoramic streets overlooking the valley, offers the perfect setting for an open-air evening where wine becomes an opportunity to meet and discover the Frisa area. The event is organized by the Pro Loco Frisa APS, a cornerstone of the municipality's social and cultural life, and has become a staple of the summer season on the Costa dei Trabocchi and the Chieti hinterland.
As every summer, the Pro Loco Frisa APS is expected to host Calici di Stelle in Guastameroli during the second week of August, following the national circuit of the Movimento Turismo del Vino. The precise dates and the program for the 2026 edition have not yet been published.
The usual format includes a tasting trail along Via Belvedere and Via Filippini, featuring Abruzzo wines, local products, live music, and stargazing. Details will be communicated by the organizers in the weeks leading up to the event.
