Two days of nature, music, wellness, and craftsmanship in the village of Calendano, at the gateway to the Alta Murgia National Park.
Calendano in Fiore is the event that brings the small rural village of Calendano to life. Located in the territory of Ruvo di Puglia (Province of Bari, Puglia), at the gateway to the Alta Murgia National Park and the UNESCO-recognized Murgeopark, the festival was created to highlight the local area, promote regional excellence, and strengthen community bonds. It combines culture, nature, music, wellness, and craftsmanship into a single outdoor weekend.
The heart of the event is the village itself, with its Santuario dell'Annunziata open for visits—a place where the people of Ruvo have always loved to spend their summer days, surrounded by olive trees, dry-stone walls, and the typical landscapes of the Alta Murgia.
The two-day event offers a rich calendar of activities for all ages. On Saturday afternoon, the artisan markets and the flower and plant nursery open, accompanied by musical performances, artistic and sensory workshops, and classical music concerts; in the evening, the village lights up with DJ sets under the stars.
Sunday is dedicated to nature and wellness: it begins in the morning with trekking along the Murgia trails, yoga sessions for adults and children, and creative recycling workshops. The afternoon features storytelling, wellness workshops, choral performances, and live concerts in a festive, shared atmosphere.
The initiative is organized by the Associazione Calendano, with the patronage of the Municipality of Ruvo di Puglia and the Alta Murgia National Park, in collaboration with the Pro Loco of Ruvo di Puglia and the support of the local Confcommercio. More than just a festival, Calendano in Fiore is a project dedicated to enhancing the landscape and local craftsmanship, with a strong focus on education, inclusion, and the environment.
Calendano in Fiore is now one of the most cherished events of the Ruvo summer, successfully blending tradition, sustainability, and conviviality in the heart of the Apulian Murgia.
The third edition of Calendano in Fiore brought the festival back to the village of Calendano, in Ruvo di Puglia, after a few years of hiatus. The 2026 event took on special significance by coinciding with the Festa della Musica on June 21.
