Three days of table football, community, and charity in Casalnoceto
For an entire weekend, the small town of Casalnoceto, in the heart of the Tortona area in the province of Alessandria, becomes the national hub for table football enthusiasts. The Calciobalilla Village was created to bring one of the most beloved table sports to Piedmont, turning the Teatro SOMS in Piazza Martiri della Libertà into an arena of competition, fun, and connection.
The initiative, promoted by the Municipality of Casalnoceto in collaboration with the FICB (Italian Table Football Federation), aims to highlight local identity and tourism potential. As Mayor Silvia Figini emphasized, it is "much more than a sporting event": it is a national showcase that represents a major first step in putting Casalnoceto and the entire Tortona region on the map.
The heart of the Village is the competition, structured in various formats to involve both champions and casual players:
Beyond the matches, the Calciobalilla Village offers music, social gatherings, and a celebration of local culinary excellence. Special attention is paid to the social dimension: the event collaborates with local organizations, and a portion of the proceeds is donated to LILT (Italian League for the Fight Against Cancer) and the A casa con Voi association, confirming the event's spirit of solidarity.
With the patronage of institutions such as the Piedmont Regional Council, the Province of Alessandria, and the Alessandria-Asti Chamber of Commerce, the Village aims to be an appointment that makes Casalnoceto known far beyond regional borders.
Participating in the Calciobalilla Village also means discovering an authentic corner of Piedmont: the hills of the Tortona area, its wines, and its flavors, in a town that has chosen table sports as its calling card. Between matches, the Teatro SOMS becomes a meeting place for generations, where foosball unites national champions, local officials, and families.
From May 22 to 24, 2026, Casalnoceto hosted the first edition of the Calciobalilla Village, three days dedicated to table football at the Teatro SOMS. The event combined high-level competitions, social moments, and a strong focus on social causes, with the participation of children from the Centro Paolo VI Onlus.
Mayor Silvia Figini defined the event as "much more than a sporting event," a major first step in promoting the Tortona region. Part of the proceeds was donated to LILT and the A casa con Voi association.
The 24th FICB Italian Cup was won by the pair Alessio Camilleri and Girolamo Lombardo, ahead of Roberta Begnis and Enza Ciccone (2nd) and Sirio Mello and Christian Porretto (3rd). The Open amateur trophy went to Giuseppe Zerba and Michele Camerini from Bagnaria. A particularly touching moment was the participation of the children from the Centro Paolo VI Onlus, a symbol of social integration through sport.
