The photography exhibition by Fotoclub Carpe Diem in the heart of Cagli
Cagli Photo Art is the photography exhibition that enlivens the historic center of Cagli, in the Province of Pesaro and Urbino, in the Marche region, every spring. The initiative stems from the experience of Fotoclub Cagli Carpe Diem, a club active since 2005 in promoting photographic culture through exhibitions, courses, and screenings. The exhibition has its roots in 2014, when the club hosted the Regional Photography Exhibition of the Marche: from that experience, a now-established event was born, attracting authors from the Marche region and national guests.
The common thread of Cagli Photo Art is the gaze on reality: reportage, social research, landscape, and portraiture alternate in the exhibition rooms. Over the years, the exhibition has addressed themes such as post-earthquake reconstruction, urban transformation, the relationship between humans and nature, and animal welfare, giving space to both the club's authors and invited photographers. The setup generally includes a main hall with works by local authors and a series of rooms dedicated to guests, offering visitors a rich and varied experience.
The 2026 edition, themed Photovisioni, was held at Palazzo Berardi Mochi Zamperoli, on via Alessandri. The opening took place on Saturday, May 2nd, followed by public openings spread over several weekends in May. Sixteen authors exhibited, in a comparison of different styles and genres that, according to local press, transformed the exhibition into a true cultural debate on contemporary photography.
Cagli is one of the most interesting towns in the Pesaro hinterland: along the ancient Via Flaminia, it preserves towers, churches, and palaces that provide the ideal backdrop for an exhibition dedicated to images. Visiting Cagli Photo Art also means discovering the Municipality of Cagli and the landscape of the Catria and Nerone mountains, in a weekend that combines culture, photography, and slow tourism.
