Baroque chamber music in the Church of San Pietro, nestled in the Val d'Orcia hills
The Cacciaconti Music Festival is a chamber music series that brings some of the most picturesque corners of the Sienese countryside to life every summer, stretching from the Valdichiana to the Val d'Orcia. Produced by the Milano Classica orchestra and led by artistic directors and violinists Steven Slade and Ariana Kim, the festival is divided into two artistic residencies: the first part in June between Trequanda and its neighboring villages, and a second part in late August in Radicofani, with a special focus on the Baroque repertoire.
In Radicofani, a hilltop village overlooking the Val d'Orcia in the province of Siena, concerts are held in the Church of San Pietro Apostolo, an intimate space with acoustics that perfectly showcase voices and period instruments. The Radicofani leg concludes the festival schedule with some of its most anticipated evenings, hosting ensembles and soloists specializing in early and Baroque music.
The 2026 edition, the second of the series, features three concerts in Radicofani from August 29th to 31st:
The Cacciaconti Music Festival was born with the goal of intertwining music, landscape, and heritage, bringing internationally renowned performers to medieval parish churches, historic chapels, and period gardens. The setting of Radicofani, located in the municipality of the same name and the Province of Siena, within the UNESCO-listed Val d'Orcia, offers an exceptional backdrop that enhances the listening experience.
With its refined programming and the high caliber of its performers, the Radicofani leg of the Cacciaconti Music Festival has quickly established itself as a benchmark for Baroque and chamber music enthusiasts looking to combine great music with the discovery of the Tuscan territory.
The Radicofani leg of the 2026 edition features three evenings dedicated to early and Baroque music in the Church of San Pietro Apostolo. On Saturday, August 29 at 6:00 PM, soprano Channa Malkin and guitarist Izhar Elias present a vocal and instrumental program from the 17th century featuring Sephardic pieces. On Sunday, August 30 at 9:15 PM, the Baroque Concert by the Mozarteum of Salzburg takes the stage, in collaboration with the Accademia Chigiana and featuring contralto Sara Mingardo. On Monday, August 31 at 9:15 PM, the festival concludes with the ensemble Gli Incogniti and violinist Amandine Beyer in a program entirely dedicated to Mozart's flute quartets.
Radicofani can be reached by car from the Fabro or Chiusi-Chianciano exits of the A1 motorway, or via the SR2 Cassia road. The nearest train station is Chiusi-Chianciano Terme, which is connected to the town by bus services.
Concerts are held in the Church of San Pietro Apostolo, in the historic center of Radicofani (SI), in the Val d'Orcia.
