The summer event calendar for the Municipality of Bronte, at the foot of Mount Etna
The Bronte Summer Festival is the collection of summer events organized every year by the Municipality of Bronte, a town in the province of Catania nestled on the western slopes of Mount Etna, in Sicily. It is not a single festival, but a comprehensive calendar that, from July to August, fills the historic squares with all kinds of events: concerts, cabaret shows, open-air cinema, evenings for children, DJ sets, and moments of traditional Sicilian music and culture.
The strength of the Bronte Summer Festival lies in the variety of its offerings. Every year, the municipal administration builds a mix of activities designed to satisfy different age groups: from big names in Italian pop music for young audiences to comedy and cabaret shows, and entertainment and workshops dedicated to children. The most involved squares are Piazza Castiglione and Piazza Spedalieri, which transform into open-air stages during summer evenings.
Alongside the concerts, there are dance nights with club music, foam parties, open-air cinema screenings, and puppet theater shows. There is no shortage of moments linked to local culture and identity, such as evenings of traditional Sicilian songs and storytelling, and performances by local musical groups. Nelson Castle, a picturesque historic residence in the Bronte countryside, often serves as a backdrop for activities like archery competitions.
Bronte is world-famous for its DOP green pistachio, the "green gold" that grows on the volcanic slopes of Mount Etna. The Bronte Summer Festival represents the appetizer for the city's event season, which culminates in the autumn with the renowned Pistachio Festival. Participating in the summer festival also means discovering a village rich in history, traditions, and flavors in the heart of the Etna Park.
The Bronte Summer Festival 2026 offers a particularly rich program, supported by significant funding from the Sicilian Region dedicated to summer entertainment. The historic squares of Bronte host concerts for young audiences, cabaret nights, dance music, film screenings, and family entertainment, distributed between July and August.
Among the most anticipated events are big names in Italian pop music and a series of events that enliven summer evenings in Piazza Castiglione and Piazza Spedalieri, in the heart of the Etna town in the province of Catania.
The program is completed by foam parties, DJ set nights and club music, open-air cinema screenings, and children's shows. The full program, with all dates and times, is published on the official channels of the Municipality of Bronte.
Bronte is located in the province of Catania, on the western side of Mount Etna. By car, it can be reached via the SS284 from Adrano or Randazzo. The nearest airport is Catania-Fontanarossa, about 60 km away. Bronte is also served by the historic Circumetnea railway line.
Most of the Bronte Summer Festival events take place in the town squares and are free of charge. For any paid events, it is advisable to check the official channels of the Municipality from time to time.
The detailed program is published year by year on the official channels of the Municipality of Bronte and on its institutional Facebook page.
