Brodetto Show is the summer event that, in the heart of Porto Recanati (Province of Macerata, Marche), transforms the Portorecanatese Brodetto De.Co. into a true spectacle. The setting is Piazza Brancondi, overlooking the seafront, where storytelling, music, and tasting of one of the most iconic dishes of the Marche Adriatic coast intertwine as evening falls.

What is Portorecanatese Brodetto?

The brodetto of Porto Recanati is not just any fish soup. Unlike other Adriatic brodetti, this one contains no tomato: the dish is distinguished by the exclusive use of fresh local fish and the presence of saffron (the famous zafferanella from Conero), which gives it an unmistakable golden color and a delicate, unusual flavor. It is precisely this uniqueness that earned it the De.Co. (Denominazione Comunale - Municipal Designation) recognition, a symbol of the deep connection between the recipe and its territory.

The format of the Brodetto Show alternates cultural and convivial aspects. The evening is hosted on stage, taking the audience on a sensory journey through the history, anecdotes, and curiosities of the dish, with questions, answers, and entertainment. The chefs from the Accademia del Brodetto alla Portorecanatese bring the story to life by preparing the specialty and offering it for tasting to attendees.

A Stop on the Grand Tour delle Marche by Tipicità

The Brodetto Show is one of the stops on the Grand Tour delle Marche by Tipicità, a circuit of "made in Marche" experiences focused on biodiversity, wellness, travel, and taste, promoted by Tipicità and ANCI Marche. The initiative combines food and wine, villages, and local culture, with the direct involvement of the Municipality of Porto Recanati: an opportunity to discover the Macerata Riviera starting from its tables and maritime traditions.
