The children's theatre festival in Collepasso, in the heart of Salento
Briciole is a theatre festival dedicated to children and families, held in Collepasso, a small town in the province of Lecce, in the heart of Salento and Puglia. Launched in the 2024-2025 season, the event brings a series of children's theatre performances to the Salento town every winter, spread across several Sunday afternoons between December and February.
The festival is promoted by the Municipality of Collepasso as part of the local pedagogical coordination initiatives, in collaboration with the cultural association Ura Teatro and under the artistic direction of Laura Scorrano. The project is supported by the Puglia Region as part of the Integrated Education and Instruction System for the Zero-Six age group, confirming a vocation that combines live performance with the educational growth of the youngest.
Performances are mainly staged at the Primary School Auditorium Theatre on Via Giacomo Puccini, an intimate and welcoming space designed for young audiences, with some events held in the Municipal Council Chamber. The choice of a school venue is intentional: Briciole aims to be a bridge between school, families, and the theatre, offering children their first encounter with the stage in a familiar environment.
In a small town like Collepasso, Briciole represents much more than a simple cultural program: it is a meeting point for Salento families and a precious opportunity to cultivate the theatre audience of tomorrow. The festival is part of the rich landscape of initiatives dedicated to childhood that enliven the province of Lecce during the winter months.
The second edition of the Briciole festival brought Collepasso to life from Sunday, December 7, 2025, to Sunday, February 22, 2026, with six theatre performances for children and families. The formula of one Sunday afternoon per month at the Primary School Auditorium Theatre was confirmed, under the artistic direction of Ura Teatro and with the support of the Puglia Region. The inauguration combined a parade through the town streets, led by the Conturband, with the opening show, while the closing event featured one of the most beloved productions of Salento's youth theatre scene.
