About Briciole

Briciole is a theatre festival for children and families that brightens up the winter in Collepasso, a small town in the province of Lecce, in the heart of Salento. Between December and February, the Primary School Auditorium Theatre hosts monthly Sunday performances by theatre companies from Puglia and across Italy. This free-admission project is promoted by the Municipality and artistically directed by Ura Teatro, aiming to introduce young audiences to the magic of the stage.

A children's theatre festival in the heart of Salento

Briciole is a theatre festival dedicated to children and families, held in Collepasso, a small town in the province of Lecce, in the heart of Salento and Puglia. Launched in the 2024-2025 season, the event brings a series of children's theatre performances to the Salento town every winter, spread across several Sunday afternoons between December and February.

Who organizes Briciole

The festival is promoted by the Municipality of Collepasso as part of the local pedagogical coordination initiatives, in collaboration with the cultural association Ura Teatro and under the artistic direction of Laura Scorrano. The project is supported by the Puglia Region as part of the Integrated Education and Instruction System for the Zero-Six age group, confirming a vocation that combines live performance with the educational growth of the youngest.

Where it takes place

Performances are mainly staged at the Primary School Auditorium Theatre on Via Giacomo Puccini, an intimate and welcoming space designed for young audiences, with some events held in the Municipal Council Chamber. The choice of a school venue is intentional: Briciole aims to be a bridge between school, families, and the theatre, offering children their first encounter with the stage in a familiar environment.

What to expect

  • Puppet theatre, storytelling, and acting performances tailored to different age groups, from toddlers (2 years old) to older children.
  • Theatre companies from Salento, Puglia, and across Italy specializing in children's theatre, such as Ura Teatro, Kuziba, Factory Compagnia Transadriatica, and other prominent Italian groups.
  • Opening parades through the town streets and festive moments involving the entire Collepasso community.
  • Free admission with mandatory booking, making culture accessible to all local families.

A community appointment

In a small town like Collepasso, Briciole represents much more than a simple cultural program: it is a meeting point for Salento families and a precious opportunity to cultivate the theatre audience of tomorrow. The festival is part of the rich landscape of initiatives dedicated to childhood that enliven the province of Lecce during the winter months.
