The Bracciano Sprint Triathlon is the premier summer triathlon event held in Bracciano, a town in the Metropolitan City of Rome Capital, in the Lazio region. The event headquarters is the Lungolago Giuseppe Argenti, a scenic promenade overlooking Lake Bracciano, one of the largest volcanic lakes in Central Italy, dominated by the silhouette of the Orsini-Odescalchi Castle. Every year in late July, athletes from all over Lazio and beyond gather here to test themselves in the three disciplines that make up the triathlon.
The race format: sprint distance
The competition is held over the sprint distance, the most popular and accessible triathlon format, covering a total of approximately 25.75 km. The race begins with a swim in the lake's waters, continues with a cycling leg on roads winding through the lakeside area, and concludes with a run along the promenade. The race is part of the official Italian Triathlon Federation (FITri) calendar with a Silver classification and serves as a stage of the Lazio Regional Triathlon Championship.
Inclusion and paratriathlon
One of the event's defining features is its commitment to inclusion. Alongside the adult race, the program includes a paratriathlon event, part of the national circuit, which opens the doors of the sport to Paralympic athletes. The program
- Saturday, July 25 — Paratriathlon race, starting at 08:30 (expected finish around 10:30).
- Sunday, July 26 — Adult Sprint race, starting at 08:15.
The sprint race follows the classic distance of approximately 25.75 km: a swim in the lake, a road cycling leg, and a final run along the promenade. The race has a Silver classification and is valid as a stage of the 2026 Lazio Regional Triathlon Championship; the Paralympic event is part of the national paratriathlon circuit.
Registration

How to get there
Bracciano is located approximately 40 km northwest of Rome. By car, it can be reached via the SS493 Braccianese or the Via Claudia Braccianese. By train, it is served by the FL3 regional line (Rome-Viterbo), with the Bracciano station located just minutes from the town center. The nearest airport is Rome-Fiumicino.
