Swimming, cycling, and running along the shores of Lake Bracciano
The Bracciano Sprint Triathlon is the premier summer triathlon event held in Bracciano, a town in the Metropolitan City of Rome Capital, in the Lazio region. The event headquarters is the Lungolago Giuseppe Argenti, a scenic promenade overlooking Lake Bracciano, one of the largest volcanic lakes in Central Italy, dominated by the silhouette of the Orsini-Odescalchi Castle. Every year in late July, athletes from all over Lazio and beyond gather here to test themselves in the three disciplines that make up the triathlon.
The competition is held over the sprint distance, the most popular and accessible triathlon format, covering a total of approximately 25.75 km. The race begins with a swim in the lake's waters, continues with a cycling leg on roads winding through the lakeside area, and concludes with a run along the promenade. The race is part of the official Italian Triathlon Federation (FITri) calendar with a Silver classification and serves as a stage of the Lazio Regional Triathlon Championship.
One of the event's defining features is its commitment to inclusion. Alongside the adult race, the program includes a paratriathlon event, part of the national circuit, which opens the doors of the sport to Paralympic athletes. The inclusion of this race makes the Bracciano Sprint Triathlon an event where athletic competition is matched by strong social values.
Organized by the Associazione Sportiva Guida Sicura (ASGS), and affiliated with FITri, CONI, and FIDAL, the event goes beyond mere competition. "Swim, cycle, and run" is the slogan for a day that promotes road safety, the fight against bullying, healthy eating, legality, and integration, with messages specifically aimed at the younger generation. In this setting, sport becomes a tool for growth and awareness.
Reaching its tenth edition in 2026, the race has established itself as a staple of the summer triathlon scene in Lazio, attracting sports clubs and enthusiasts to the breathtaking setting of Lake Bracciano. For spectators, it is a fantastic opportunity to watch a spectacular competition for free from the lakefront, in one of the most beautiful locations north of Rome.
In 2026, the Bracciano Sprint Triathlon celebrates its tenth edition with a weekend entirely dedicated to triathlon on Lake Bracciano. The event headquarters is the Lungolago Giuseppe Argenti, in the municipality of Bracciano (Rome), Lazio.
The sprint race follows the classic distance of approximately 25.75 km: a swim in the lake, a road cycling leg, and a final run along the promenade. The race has a Silver classification and is valid as a stage of the 2026 Lazio Regional Triathlon Championship; the Paralympic event is part of the national paratriathlon circuit.
Registration is reserved for licensed athletes and is handled online through the official timing system, closing in the days leading up to the race. Fees vary by category (from youth sectors to Senior and Master categories). Spectator access from the lake shore is free.
