Eight evenings of wine, nature, and gastronomy in the woods of the Castelli Romani
Bosco DiVino is not your typical wine fair. The concept behind it is both simple and striking: taking producers out of exhibition halls and convention centers and placing them under the tree canopy in one of the most beautiful wooded areas of the Castelli Romani. The result is an event where every glass of wine is accompanied by the rustle of leaves and the cool evening breeze of the hills, just a few dozen kilometers from Rome yet in a setting that feels worlds away from the city.
The venue is the Fonte Ontanese, located within the Ontanese woods inside the Castelli Romani Regional Park, in the Municipality of Lariano, province of Rome, Lazio. For the occasion, the area is illuminated and set up with tasting counters, refreshment points, and meeting spaces, while maintaining the natural character of the site: you walk on the forest floor, not on asphalt.
The core of the event is the selection of wineries, which has grown year after year. The 2026 edition brings together around 80 wineries, 46 of which are from Lazio: a proportion that highlights the event's mission to showcase regional production without closing its doors to the rest of Italy. Alongside the Castelli Romani denominations, you will find labels from other regions and, in previous editions, even international producers.
The festival intentionally brings together very different stories: historic companies with over two centuries of activity—the oldest dating back to 1821—and young producers established in 2024 who are presenting their first labels to the public right here in Lariano. This is one of the most compelling aspects of the event and a key reason why it is worth seeking guidance during your tasting rather than choosing at random.
The tasting experience is supported by sommeliers from FISAR (Italian Federation of Sommeliers, Hoteliers, and Restaurateurs), who host masterclasses and assist visitors in exploring the wines. The organizers emphasize conscious, high-quality drinking, with special attention given to younger audiences: it is not about quantity, but the ability to recognize and describe what is in your glass.
The wine is paired with a gastronomic selection featuring traditional and gourmet dishes, street food, and local DOP products, all designed to complement regional DOC and DOCG wines. The refreshment area allows you to stay for the entire evening without needing to look elsewhere.
Each evening features live music: the musical program for the 2026 edition is curated by artistic director Carlo Micheli. Alongside the concerts, there are cultural initiatives that expand the experience beyond tasting, including a book presentation by Francesco Radiciotti dedicated to the wines of the Great Laziale Volcano—the volcanic complex that shaped the soils of the Castelli Romani—and a vintage car exhibition.
The pet-friendly formula introduced in 2025 has been confirmed: dogs are welcome and are greeted with a snack, while their owners are offered a glass of wine.
Bosco DiVino is organized by the Lariano DOC 2023 association, chaired by lawyer Roberto Ficcardi, and is supported by the Lazio Region, ARSIAL, the Castelli Romani Regional Park, the Città del Vino association, and the Municipality of Lariano.
The event has a tangible impact on its host location: for the 2026 edition, a defibrillator will be donated to the Municipality of Lariano, to be installed in the Fonte Ontanese area in a video-monitored case, along with new signage and trash bins. It is a way to leave something behind for the woods even after the lights go out.
Officially presented in July 2026, the fourth edition of Bosco DiVino confirms the format of two long weekends: Thursday 16, Friday 17, Saturday 18, and Sunday 19 July, followed by Thursday 23, Friday 24, Saturday 25, and Sunday 26 July 2026. The evenings begin around 8:00 PM and run until midnight in the Ontanese woods of Lariano.
The number of wineries rises to around 80, with 46 companies from Lazio. The selection pairs producers with over two centuries of history—the oldest founded in 1821—with new ventures established in 2024 that are presenting their first labels here. The musical program is entrusted to artistic director Carlo Micheli.
Side events include the presentation of the book by Francesco Radiciotti dedicated to the wines of the Great Laziale Volcano and a vintage car exhibition. The organizing association, Lariano DOC 2023, will also donate a defibrillator to the Municipality, to be installed in the Fonte Ontanese area, along with new signage and trash bins.
Detailed evening schedules for artists and masterclass times are published by the organizers on the official website and social media channels in the days leading up to the event.

By car: Lariano is easily reached from Rome via the Via Casilina (SS6) or the Via Appia (SS7), continuing toward the Castelli Romani; from the Grande Raccordo Anulare, the journey takes about an hour. This is the most practical way to travel, as the Fonte Ontanese area is located outside the town center.
The evenings take place from approximately 8:00 PM to midnight. Admission to the area is free and parking is free. Tastings are accessed by purchasing a wine ticket on-site or via the official website; masterclasses may require prior booking.
This is an outdoor event in a hilly forest: closed, comfortable shoes and a light sweater are recommended, as evenings in the Castelli Romani can be cool even in July. It is best to arrive early to park nearby and enjoy the tasting route at a leisurely pace. Dogs are allowed.
