A feast dedicated to the borlotto bean

Borlotto Day is the great bean feast of Filottrano, a lively town in the province of Ancona, in the Marche region. For several years, this popular event has enlivened the historic center, bringing an entire evening dedicated to the borlotto bean, a humble and generous product of Marche peasant cuisine, to Piazza Mazzini. It is a village festival in the truest sense of the word: traditional food, live music, and a great desire to be together.

Traditional dishes

The heart of Borlotto Day lies in its food stands, where the borlotto bean is presented in numerous recipes designed to please every palate. Among the specialties that have made the event famous are:

• Borlotti col porco (borlotti with pork), the classic pairing with pork meat
• Borlotti trinità, a robust traditional recipe
• Piatto Borlotto Day and Pasta del Borlotto Day, the signature dishes of the event

The gastronomic offer is completed by arrosticini, grilled meats, crescia, sandwiches, and fried foods, all accompanied by wine and craft beer that flow freely through the streets of the center.

Music, motorcycles, and atmosphere

Beyond the food, Borlotto Day is primarily a celebration. Live concerts and music alternate on the stage set up in Piazza Mazzini, animating the evening until late at night. In recent editions, the event has also hosted Harley Davidson motorcycle rallies and tours through the town streets, with a display of the bikes in the center. Admission is free, and the event is designed for everyone, from families to groups of friends.
