The neighborhood festival bringing the historic heart of Alessandria to life
The Borgo Rovereto Festival is a highly anticipated event in the calendar of Alessandria, the provincial capital of lower Piedmont. Borgo Rovereto is one of the city's historic districts, a maze of streets, small squares, and courtyards near the center that transforms into a vast, widespread celebration for the weekend. The event stems from the desire of local residents and merchants to animate their streets and help both locals and visitors rediscover the area's most authentic soul.
The program spans the entire weekend with a widespread event format: instead of a single stage, numerous initiatives are distributed throughout the streets, courtyards, and spaces of the Borgo. Recurring offerings include:
One of the most awaited events is the Historic Motorcycle Ride (Motopasseggiata nella Storia), organized by the Veteran Car Club Pietro Bordino of Alessandria, departing from Piazza della Libertà . The initiative combines a passion for vintage motors with the promotion of the territory's historical, cultural, and landscape heritage, featuring an itinerary that involves motorcyclists and enthusiasts with stops dedicated to local excellence.
More than just a simple festival, the Borgo Rovereto Festival is an opportunity to experience the historic center of Alessandria in a different way: walking through open courtyards, listening to music, tasting the flavors of Piedmont, and participating in the life of a neighborhood that, for a few days, becomes the city's living room. In recent years, the festival has intertwined with the city-wide Aperto per Cultura event, further expanding the range of offerings including shows, art, and culture.
The event is free to enter and takes place in the heart of Alessandria, easily reachable on foot from the center. During the festival, traffic and parking changes are expected in the affected streets. For the updated program, times, and details of individual initiatives, it is recommended to check the official website and social media channels of the Borgo Rovereto Community Association.
