About Borgiallo Literary Review

In the heart of the Canavese region, the Borgiallo Municipal Library transforms its home of books into a vibrant space for dialogue. The Literary Review is a series of events running from February to June that brings writers, scholars, and enthusiasts to the Cultural Center in Piazza Severino Trucano. Featuring book presentations, local history, fiction, and personal testimonies, these evenings are open to all, designed for readers of every age and dedicated to giving voice to the stories of the Piedmont region.

A literary review in the heart of the Canavese

In Borgiallo, a small town in the Province of Turin nestled in the hills of the Canavese, the Municipal Library hosts an annual series of author meet-and-greets that brings the Cultural Center in Piazza Severino Trucano to life. This initiative was born to turn the library into a true gathering point—a place where books, stories, and local memory foster open dialogue, not just for residents but for the entire surrounding area.

Books, history, and local voices

The common thread of the review is variety: the program ranges from contemporary fiction to historical non-fiction, and from tales rooted in Piedmontese folklore to personal accounts of life and emigration. Many of the invited authors have strong ties to the Canavese and Piedmont, and their books recount stories, legends, and events that speak directly to the local community.

  • Book presentations with direct dialogue between authors and the public;
  • In-depth looks at the history and culture of the Canavese;
  • Tales linked to the folklore and popular traditions of the area;
  • Screenings, exhibitions, and creative workshops accompanying the evenings.

A library looking to the future

Beyond the review, the Borgiallo Library carries out a project to promote local historical and cultural heritage, featuring an online section dedicated to maps, documents, and images of the territory. The Borgiallo house of books continues to offer presentations, screenings, exhibitions, and activities for adults and children throughout the year.

An event for the entire Canavese

For those living in Borgiallo and neighboring towns, the Literary Review represents a precious opportunity to meet writers, discover new reads, and rediscover the history of their own land. The evenings, hosted at the Cultural Center, are open and welcoming: a small yet significant cultural event that demonstrates how even a village in Piedmont can cultivate a passion for books and culture.
