A weekend of history, nature, and gastronomy in the heart of the Belice Valley
The Borghi dei Tesori Fest is a widespread festival created by the Le Vie dei Tesori Foundation, which every spring transforms dozens of small Sicilian towns into a grand itinerary to discover places that are usually closed or little-known. In the 2026 edition, the sixth of the series, the Municipality of Partanna, in the province of Trapani, makes its debut in the circuit, taking part in the third and final weekend scheduled for May 23rd and 24th.
Nestled in the Belice Valley, Partanna is a village with Arab origins, deeply marked by the 1968 earthquake but still capable of preserving important historical and archaeological evidence. The festival is an opportunity to rediscover this heritage through a weekend dedicated to history, nature, and gastronomy.
Among the proposed visits, the Church of San Rocco stands out, built in 1576 as a vow after the plague and recognizable by its bell tower covered in green majolica tiles. Doors also open to the former Benedictine Convent, which hosts tastings of local products during the festival. The route through alleys, churches, and panoramic viewpoints reveals the authentic identity of a village in Western Sicily.
The food and wine dimension is one of the hallmarks of the Partanna stop. In the former convent, you can taste local extra virgin olive oil, Nocellara del Belice olives, and Vastedda del Belice PDO, the signature cheese of the territory. The program also includes:
The Partanna stop is part of a broader program that, in the 2026 edition, involves twenty-five small towns on the island over three consecutive weekends, from May 9th to 24th. The project is promoted by the Le Vie dei Tesori Foundation together with the Borghi dei Tesori association, with the aim of enhancing smaller villages and their hidden treasures, offering visitors a slow and authentic way to experience the Sicily Region.

Among the experiences offered are e-bike tours through the olive groves and landscapes of the Belice Valley, activities with shepherds for ricotta making, urban trekking, peasant-style lunches, and local wine tastings.
The 2026 edition of the Partanna stop takes place on Saturday, May 23rd, and Sunday, May 24th, in the town's historic center, with the Church of San Rocco and the former Benedictine Convent serving as key landmarks.
