On Bordighera's Argentina seafront, one of the most beautiful promenades on the Riviera dei Fiori, A Sea of Flavors returns at the end of July, a festival celebrating Ligurian haute cuisine between tradition and innovation. Michelin-starred chefs, local restaurateurs, and an exceptional guest region take turns in public cooking shows, with wine pairings curated by professional sommeliers. An open-air haute gastronomy event, with sea views, that each year draws curious visitors and enthusiasts to the heart of a Ligurian summer.

Bordighera a Sea of Flavors is the food and wine festival that enlivens the Lungomare Argentina in Bordighera, in the province of Imperia, every summer. Promoted by the Municipality and Confcommercio with the patronage of the Liguria Region, the event celebrates the cuisine of the Riviera dei Fiori, combining Ligurian tradition with the innovation of haute cuisine.

Michelin-starred chefs and cooking shows

The heart of the event is the cooking shows held at the Chiosco della Musica, where Michelin-starred chefs and restaurateurs reinterpret the flavors of the region. Each edition hosts a guest region โ€” in the past, Piedmont, with renowned chefs such as Alessandro Boglione, Massimo Camia, and Fabio Ingallinera โ€” creating a dialogue between the excellences of the coast and those of the hinterland. Wine pairings are curated by professional sommeliers from ASPI, featuring Ligurian and Piedmontese labels.

Pesto and local traditions

Among the festival's historic events are the selections for the World Championship of Mortar Pesto, with the presence of Roberto Panizza, creator of the Genoa event. The evenings are accompanied by live music and free public participation, in a festive atmosphere that promotes Ligurian products and producers.

How to get there

Bordighera is served by the train station on the Genoaโ€“Ventimiglia line. By car, it can be reached from the Bordighera motorway exit (A10). The cooking shows are held at the Chiosco della Musica, on Lungomare Argentina.
