The local heritage festival of the Bonfantini Agricultural Institute at Villa Caccia
In Romagnano Sesia, nestled in the heart of the Novara province and just a stone's throw from the Valsesia valley, the Villa Caccia Park transforms into a vibrant, open-air farmstead every spring. This is the setting for Bonfa in Campo, a local festival born from the vision and energy of students at the "G. Bonfantini" Agricultural Instituteโthe historic "Bonfa" that has been training agronomists and technicians in North-Eastern Piedmont for generations.
What makes this event truly special is the leading role played by the youth: students, supported by their teachers, design, set up, and manage the entire day. From preparing the grounds and welcoming visitors to curating the stalls, the students put their classroom and field training into practice. The result is an authentic celebration where education becomes a shared experience with the entire community.
Bonfa in Campo serves as a meeting point for nature, agricultural heritage, local products, and community spirit. The Villa Caccia park hosts local exhibitors and producers showcasing the finest food and wine from the Novara and Valsesia regions, alongside entertainment, agricultural demonstrations, and activities designed for families and children.
The festival continues to grow thanks to the collaboration between the institute, the Municipality of Romagnano Sesia, and Coldiretti. They bring conferences and institutional sessions to Villa Caccia, focusing on the future of agriculture, generational renewal, and the promotion of local supply chains. This dialogue between schools, public bodies, and the production sector makes Bonfa in Campo much more than just a simple fair.
Following a successful debut, the 2026 edition confirmed the event's popularity, drawing over a thousand visitors to Villa Caccia in a single day. It has become a highly anticipated date on the Romagnano Sesia calendar, uniting agriculture, education, tradition, and territory, with ambitious plans for future growth.
The second edition of Bonfa in Campo transformed Villa Caccia Park in Romagnano Sesia (NO) into a major meeting point for nature, flavors, and agricultural traditions. Once again, the protagonists were the students of the "G. Bonfantini" Agricultural Institute, who, with the help of their teachers, managed the organization and logistics of the entire day.
Over a thousand people enlivened the park, exploring stalls from local producers, demonstrations, and family-friendly activities. The event also featured conferences and institutional sessions promoted in partnership with Coldiretti and the Municipality of Romagnano Sesia, focusing on the future of agriculture and local development. The success of this edition has already paved the way for the third.
The 2026 edition took place over a single day, roughly from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM, within the Villa Caccia Park. The program blended agricultural, educational, and community elements:
