The Festival of Well-being and Beauty in Nature on the Bolognese Apennines
The Bologna Mountain Evergreen Fest is the widespread festival that every year, in the first days of June, transforms the Apennines above Bologna into a large space dedicated to the well-being and beauty of living in contact with nature. Founded in 2021 and organized by the association Viva il Verde APS based in Loiano, the festival develops along the route of the Bologna Mountain Art Trail, the artistic and naturalistic itinerary that connects the villages of the Bolognese mountains.
The Evergreen Fest does not have a single venue: it is a widespread and itinerant event that involves the mountain territories of the Municipalities of Loiano, Monghidoro, Monterenzio, Monzuno, and San Benedetto Val di Sambro, in the Metropolitan City of Bologna, Emilia-Romagna. Each day offers appointments distributed among woods, trails, squares, and cultural places, so that visitors can choose their own path through the mountains.
The program is entirely dedicated to the concept of well-being and sustainability, with the participation of qualified professionals. Among the most characteristic activities of the festival:
The philosophy of the festival is to make participants active protagonists of the program, not just spectators: you walk, you practice, you learn, and you share.
The Evergreen Fest is a precious opportunity to discover the Bolognese Apennines in a slow and conscious way, far from the rhythms of the city. The mountains above Bologna, with their woods, their panoramas, and their villages, become for a week the heart of a great collective story about sustainable living. An event designed for families, hikers, nature lovers, and anyone who wants to reconnect authentically with the environment.
The 6th edition of the Bologna Mountain Evergreen Fest took place from May 31 to June 7, 2026, confirming the formula of the widespread festival of well-being and beauty in nature along the Bologna Mountain Art Trail. The events involved the Municipalities of Loiano, Monghidoro, Monterenzio, Monzuno, and San Benedetto Val di Sambro, with the concluding weekend particularly dedicated to Loiano.
This year again, the program was entirely dedicated to the concept of well-being and sustainable living, with the participation of qualified professionals and the aim of making participants active protagonists of the proposed activities.
The listed events are those documented in Loiano; the complete program of the widespread festival includes further excursions, workshops, and well-being meetings distributed in the other Municipalities of the Bolognese Apennines along the Bologna Mountain Art Trail.
The festival is spread across the Municipalities of Loiano, Monghidoro, Monterenzio, Monzuno, and San Benedetto Val di Sambro, in the Bolognese Apennines. Loiano can be reached by car from Bologna along the Strada Statale 65 della Futa (about 35 km). The villages are also connected to Bologna by intercity bus lines.
It takes place every year in the first days of June, lasting about a week.
Most of the events are free to attend; some activities, workshops, and excursions require booking. For information and bookings: tel. +39 353 3176032, email [email protected].
As this is a festival in a mountain environment, comfortable clothing and shoes suitable for walking are recommended.
