The 22nd edition of the travelling festival that brings the Bible into dialogue with the present, stopping in Padua
The Biblical Festival is one of the most important Italian cultural events dedicated to the dialogue between biblical texts and the questions of contemporary man. Born in Vicenza, it is now a travelling event that touches several cities in Northern and Southern Italy. In Padua, the 22nd edition takes place over four days, with events spread throughout the historic centre and excursions into some municipalities in the province such as Albignasego, Este, Candiana, Piove di Sacco, and Carceri.
The theme of the edition, "The Power of Limit", addresses one of the most urgent issues of our time: the relationship between power and limit in a society that perceives limit as an obstacle to overcome and tends to interpret power as the unilateral use of force. The Festival offers a different perspective, where limit becomes a constitutive dimension of the human โ a space for meaning, relationship, and freedom โ and power becomes care, custody, and responsibility.
The Padua programme alternates biblical encounters, dialogues, and meditations with exhibitions, guided tours, shows, and concerts, hosted in symbolic locations such as the Church of San Francesco Grande, the Scuola della Caritร , the Old Library of the Episcopal Seminary, the Eremitani Museums, and the Theological Faculty of Triveneto. An opportunity to experience the historic centre of Padua through culture, spirituality, and art, in a nationally significant event.
