About Biblical Festival

For four days, Padua joins the circuit of the Biblical Festival, the major event that for over twenty years has been fostering dialogue between sacred texts and the questions of our time. The 22nd edition, titled "The Power of Limit", brings biblical encounters, dialogues, meditations, exhibitions, guided tours, shows, and concerts to the city, held in some of the historic venues in the centre of Padua and in various municipalities in the province. A cultural festival addressing one of today's most pressing issues: the relationship between power and limit.

A Festival That Makes the Bible Speak with the Present

The Biblical Festival is one of the most important Italian cultural events dedicated to the dialogue between biblical texts and the questions of contemporary man. Born in Vicenza, it is now a travelling event that touches several cities in Northern and Southern Italy. In Padua, the 22nd edition takes place over four days, with events spread throughout the historic centre and excursions into some municipalities in the province such as Albignasego, Este, Candiana, Piove di Sacco, and Carceri.

"The Power of Limit"

The theme of the edition, "The Power of Limit", addresses one of the most urgent issues of our time: the relationship between power and limit in a society that perceives limit as an obstacle to overcome and tends to interpret power as the unilateral use of force. The Festival offers a different perspective, where limit becomes a constitutive dimension of the human โ€” a space for meaning, relationship, and freedom โ€” and power becomes care, custody, and responsibility.

Encounters, Exhibitions, and Concerts in Historic Venues

The Padua programme alternates biblical encounters, dialogues, and meditations with exhibitions, guided tours, shows, and concerts, hosted in symbolic locations such as the Church of San Francesco Grande, the Scuola della Caritร , the Old Library of the Episcopal Seminary, the Eremitani Museums, and the Theological Faculty of Triveneto. An opportunity to experience the historic centre of Padua through culture, spirituality, and art, in a nationally significant event.
