About Biblical Festival
The Bible in dialogue with the present
The Biblical Festival is a cultural and spiritual event born from the Diocese of Vicenza which, year after year, involves more and more Italian cities. In Città di Castello, a city of art in the Province of Perugia in the Upper Tiber Valley, the festival offers a path of encounters centered on the biblical text and the great themes of humanity, placed in dialogue with the issues of contemporary society.
Debates, meditations, and music
The program alternates public debates on social issues, biblical meditations led by scholars and theologians, and musical and artistic moments. The events take place in the symbolic places of the city — from the Chamber of the Municipal Council to the Auditorium San Giovanni Decollato, up to the Sanctuary of the Madonna delle Grazie — involving citizens, scholars, and enthusiasts.
Culture and spirituality in Città di Castello
Promoted by the Diocese of Città di Castello in collaboration with the Diocese of Vicenza and the Società San Paolo, the festival combines cultural reflection, listening to the Word, and artistic beauty. The meetings are free to enter, in an experience designed for believers and non-believers, united by the desire to question the great themes of existence in the heart of Umbria.
Biblical Festival — edition 2026
In 2026, the Biblical Festival, in its 22nd edition, makes its first stop in Città di Castello with three events on the theme 'The Power of Limit', understood not as an obstacle but as a generative space for freedom, truth, and relationship. The event is promoted by the Diocese of Città di Castello in collaboration with the Diocese of Vicenza and the Società San Paolo.
Three evenings, three different places, and three different languages — social debate, biblical meditation, and music — to reflect together on the great themes of existence. All events are free to enter.

- Chamber of the Municipal Council: debate 'Inequalities, poverty, hardship, prison: what actions to humanize society', with Bishop Luciano Paolucci Bedini, Mayor Luca Secondi, Don Marco Briziarelli, and Senator Valter Verini
Friday, April 17 — 9:00 PM
- Auditorium San Giovanni Decollato: biblical meditation 'When power becomes care', led by Prof. Adriana Valerio, Church historian and theologian
Sunday, April 19 — 5:00 PM
- Sanctuary of the Madonna delle Grazie: musical-artistic event 'Francis, from the infinitely small to the greatest gift', with three choirs, on the occasion of the eighth centenary of St. Francis

How to get there
Città di Castello can be reached by car from the E45 (Cesena-Orte junction), exit Città di Castello, and by train via the Ferrovia Centrale Umbra. The events take place in various locations in the historic center.
