Chamber music concerts in the Salone d'Onore of Palazzo Anguissola Cimafava in Piacenza
The Bibiena Art Festival is a concert series dedicated to chamber, classical, and baroque music, organized in Piacenza by the Piacenza Music Pride association. The events take place in the prestigious Salone d'Onore of Palazzo Anguissola Cimafava, on Via Giordani, one of the most elegant historic residences in the Emilia capital. The festival is named after the famous Galli da Bibiena family, scenographers and architects who lent their name to the great Italian theatrical and decorative tradition.
The festival's format is a series of Sunday afternoon concerts, starting at 5:30 PM with free admission until seats are filled. Each event features a different program, alternating lyrical voices, early instruments like the fortepiano, instrumental ensembles, and chamber formations. The series combines the presence of established performers with the promotion of young musicians, to whom the Finestra Giovani (Young Artists Showcase) section is dedicated.
The 2026 edition is divided into four Sunday events, from May 3rd to 24th, and celebrates the centenary of the birth of Giuseppe Zanaboni, a composer from Piacenza. Two concerts are entirely dedicated to his chamber and stage music, with the participation of lyrical voices, instrumental ensembles, and soloists. The Finestra Giovani 2026 section complements the celebratory program with performances by emerging young artists, from opera singing to fortepiano, from accordion to harp.
The Bibiena Art Festival is part of the rich cultural landscape of the Municipality of Piacenza and the Emilia-Romagna region, an area with an ancient musical tradition that hosts historic theaters, opera festivals, and renowned concert institutions. The showcase is supported by the Emilia-Romagna Region, the Municipality of Piacenza, and local foundations and institutions, and represents a valuable opportunity to listen to quality music in an artistic setting, while also promoting the city's architectural heritage and local musical talents.
