Italy's oldest pagan and Celtic festival, set in the hills of Biella
In the rolling hills of the Biella region, in the heart of the municipality of Masserano (Province of Biella, Piedmont), the Beltane Pagan Festival celebrates the arrival of the light half of the year every spring. Hosted at the enchanting Parco Arcobaleno in the Cacciano district, it is considered Italy's oldest neo-pagan and Celtic festival. Its history dates back to 1997, and it is passionately organized by the Antica Quercia Cultural Association, which has spent decades promoting the revival of Celtic traditions, fostering dialogue between alternative spiritualities, and sharing esoteric knowledge.
Beltane is the ancient Celtic festival that welcomes the arrival of summer, fertility, the renewal of nature, and vital energy. During the festival, this spirit comes to life through ritual bonfires, dances around the Maypole, Celtic circles, and Druidic ceremonies, in an atmosphere that blends sacredness, joy, and a deep connection with the earth.
Under the patronage of the Municipality of Masserano and the Province of Biella, the Beltane Pagan Festival is confirmed as one of Italy's most beloved and well-attended pagan events, drawing enthusiasts from across the country to a green corner of Piedmont where tradition, magic, and nature intertwine.
