The grand competition of master fire-artists in the heart of the Terra di Lavoro
This edition has not been confirmed by the organiser to date. We recommend checking before going.
Launched in 2024 by the Pro Loco of Bellona, the Pyrotechnic Festival has quickly become one of the most anticipated spring events in the province of Caserta. Every year, this small town in the Terra di Lavoro region of Campania turns into a vast open-air stage where master fire-artists compete with dazzling displays of firework batteries, cascades, and light fountains.
The heart of the event is the pyrotechnic competition: numerous firms from across Southern Italy vie for the audience's applause with both daytime and evening shows. The program features the famous Neapolitan-style batteries, the powerful Bolognese-style batteries, and the scenic Valencian mascletà —a technique imported directly from Spain that made its debut right here in Bellona.
The festival is much more than a pyrotechnic show. During the event, Piazza Dante Alighieri and the surrounding streets host live concerts, DJ sets, dance performances, and a rich food area featuring local specialties. It is a celebration designed for all ages, where families, enthusiasts, and curious visitors gather to share in the excitement and tradition.
In Bellona, as in much of Campania, the art of pyrotechnics is rooted in a centuries-old tradition linked to patron saint feasts and popular celebrations. The festival was created specifically to showcase this heritage, offering pyrotechnicians a prestigious stage and the community a festive occasion. The first edition was held on Easter Monday, while the second took place between May and June: dates vary from year to year, but the spirit remains unchanged.
With each edition, the Bellona Pyrotechnic Festival has seen growing attendance and participation, drawing visitors from across the province of Caserta and beyond. The Pro Loco continues to work toward making this event a landmark for pyrotechnics enthusiasts in Southern Italy.
The 2026 edition of the Bellona Pyrotechnic Festival has not yet been officially confirmed. Building on the success of the first two editions, the Pro Loco of Bellona is working on a new installment of the event, which traditionally takes place between spring and early summer in the Caserta town. Dates and the detailed program will be announced through the association's official channels: it is recommended to check the information before planning your visit.
Program not yet published. Based on previous editions, daytime and evening pyrotechnic shows are expected with the participation of various firms, Neapolitan, Bolognese, and Valencian-style batteries, concerts, DJ sets, and a food area with street food.
