The white night of the historic center of Bazzano, with shops open, music, and street food
The Notte Bianca di Bazzano is one of the most anticipated summer events in the village, a hamlet of the Municipality of Valsamoggia, in the province of Bologna. For one evening, the historic center stays awake late: shops keep their shutters up beyond the usual, the streets fill with stalls, and Piazza Garibaldi becomes the focal point of a large street party open to all ages.
The program focuses entirely on the widespread atmosphere: along the streets of the center, you'll find street artists, itinerant shows, stilt walkers, Cyr wheel performances, and entertainment moments that engage the moving audience. There's no shortage of live music, with original performances and offerings like pedal-powered music, while fortune tellers and live shows add that touch of surprise that makes the evening special.
A white night wouldn't be complete without street food. The food stalls offer specialties for all tastes, from gluten-free options to fish specialties, not to mention borlenghi, a very thin wafer typical of the Bolognese and Modenese Apennines, and sweets for those who love a sweet ending. You eat while walking, between one stall and another, enjoying the hustle and bustle of the festival.
The White Night is also designed for the little ones: balloons, bouncy castles, the Grillo tricycle, games, and entertainment make the evening suitable for families. It's the ideal opportunity to discover Bazzano in a festive version, in an area of the Bolognese Apennines rich in traditions and good food.
Bazzano is one of the five historic hamlets that since 2014 make up the scattered Municipality of Valsamoggia, in the metropolitan city of Bologna, in Emilia-Romagna. The village retains a compact historic center, dominated by the Rocca dei Bentivoglio, which serves as the ideal backdrop for an event that combines commerce, popular culture, and conviviality. The White Night is organized thanks to the collaboration between the Municipality of Valsamoggia, Confcommercio Bologna, the Bazzano Viva association, and the Pro Loco Bazzano.
