Antiques, vintage and collectibles in the travertine heart of the city
The Mercatino Antiquario di Ascoli Piceno is one of the most anticipated and established events in the calendar of the Piceno capital. Every month, except for the summer break, the Renaissance squares of the historic center fill with stalls and curious visitors, transforming the heart of the city into an authentic itinerary through the past and collecting. With over thirty years of history, it is one of the longest-running antique fairs in the Marche and a must-visit for enthusiasts, dealers, and simple flรขneurs.
The setting alone is worth the trip. The stalls are spread across Piazza del Popolo โ one of the most elegant Renaissance squares in Italy, entirely paved in travertine โ Piazza Arringo, the Cloister of San Francesco, Piazza Roma, and Via del Trivio. Strolling among the stalls means traversing the monumental spaces of the Municipality of Ascoli Piceno, the capital of the province of the same name in the south of the Marche region, the city of a hundred towers and travertine.
Over 150 exhibitors from all over Italy offer a vast selection:
The organization is curated by Gianni Brandozzi, a historic name in Marche antiques, whose fair has reached its thirtieth anniversary. The market is not just about buying and selling: it's an opportunity to experience the historic center, discover hidden corners, and combine vintage shopping with a cultural visit, often accompanied by side initiatives such as guided tours "Ti Racconto Ascoli" through the Franciscan sites.
The market is held monthly, generally on the third weekend of the month (Saturday and Sunday), with a break in the summer months of July and August. In December, a special extended edition is planned, coinciding with the Christmas holidays. A schedule that allows you to return several times a year and find different offerings each time.
The 2026 edition of the Mercatino Antiquario di Ascoli Piceno features numerous events spread throughout the year, with the traditional summer break in July and August. Each market weekend brings over 150 exhibitors to the historic center, offering antique furniture, paintings, ceramics, jewelry, old books, and vintage items. In February, the event is skipped due to its overlap with the Ascoli Carnival, while in December, a special, longer version is planned.
The market is not held in February due to the Ascoli Carnival.
