Masterpieces of the Baroque in the ancient Oratory of Santa Brigida, in the heart of the Pigna
The Baroque Music Festival is the series that the Sanremo Symphony Orchestra dedicates to the 17th and 18th-century repertoire. The concerts are held in the former Oratory of Santa Brigida, in the heart of the Pigna, the medieval village of Sanremo (province of Imperia), a space of great charm and intimate acoustics, with some events also held in other locations on the Riviera di Ponente.
Directed by Maestro Giancarlo De Lorenzo, the festival features a series of concerts that rediscover the masterpieces of Baroque music, with guest soloists and voices. The public's success is evidenced by the numerous sold-out concerts in recent editions, a sign of appreciation for the quality of the city's Symphony Orchestra.
With the Baroque Music Festival, Sanremo reveals its most cultured and refined side, far from the television spotlight of the Song Festival. It's an opportunity to discover the Pigna, the charming medieval historic center, and to experience the city through great classical music, at affordable prices.
The fifth edition, titled 'Baroque (almost) without Vivaldi', featured 8 concerts between January and February 2026, mainly in the former Oratory of Santa Brigida in the Pigna district, at 5 PM, under the direction of Maestro Giancarlo De Lorenzo.
The two final concerts were held on February 20th at the Palazzo del Parco in Bordighera (9 PM) and on February 21st at Santa Brigida (5 PM), featuring soprano Albertina Del Bo and music by Scarlatti, Monn, Handel, and Vivaldi. Like the seven previous concerts, the last two also sold out.
The former Oratory of Santa Brigida is located in the Pigna, the historic center of Sanremo, reachable on foot from the center. The city is served by the train station on the Genoa-Ventimiglia line; by car, take the Sanremo exit on the A10 motorway.
Affordable tickets (around 5 euros) can be purchased at sinfonicasanremo.it. Any remaining tickets will be available on-site one hour before the concerts.
