Contemporary circus and street arts at Porta Nuova Park
BAM Circus is the contemporary circus and street arts festival of Biblioteca degli Alberi Milano (BAM), the public park in the Porta Nuova district, in the heart of Milan, Lombardy. Set among the skyscrapers of the city's new skyline, the park becomes a grand open-air stage for three days.
The program brings together dozens of shows with international companies: for the 2026 edition, 28 companies from seven countries are expected – France, Italy, Germany, Lithuania, the United Kingdom, Argentina, and Mexico – with 70 free events, including Italian and Milanese premieres. Acrobatics, street theater, aerial dance, and itinerant performances fill the park's lawns and paths.
BAM Circus's curatorial approach creates a dialogue between performing arts, the park's nature, and the city, reflecting on connections as a form of collective intelligence. The shows are designed to be freely enjoyed by everyone, in an atmosphere of celebration and wonder.
Organized by the Riccardo Catella Foundation, which manages the BAM park, the festival has become one of the symbolic events of Milanese spring, capable of bringing contemporary circus to a wide audience in one of the most iconic places of today's Milan.
The fifth edition of BAM Circus enlivens the Biblioteca degli Alberi Milano from May 22 to 24, 2026. The festival offers 70 free events with 28 international companies from France, Italy, Germany, Lithuania, the United Kingdom, Argentina, and Mexico, including 4 Italian premieres and 5 Milanese premieres.
Curated by the Riccardo Catella Foundation, the event creates a dialogue between performing arts, nature, and the city. The opening is on Friday, May 22, with the talk "Pillole di Meraviglia" and an evening itinerant performance.
