A Community Celebration in the Heart of Romagna

The AVIS Festival is now a well-established event in the summer of Castel Bolognese, a municipality in the province of Ravenna, in Emilia-Romagna. For several consecutive evenings, usually between late August and the first few days of September, the central Piazza Bernardi transforms into a large open-air stage: live music, shows, dances, and good food alternate in a popular festive atmosphere open to all ages.

Music, Shows, and Romagnol Tradition

The Festival's program mixes different genres and styles: live band concerts, folk music and dance evenings, comedy moments, and shows related to local folklore. Recent editions have featured live music groups, party bands, comedy-musical shows, and evocative performances by the masters of the Romagnol whip, a tradition typical of these lands. The evenings are designed to engage families, young people, and enthusiasts of popular music and culture.

The Food Stand

The heart of the event is the food stand, open every evening in a covered and welcoming setting, where you can enjoy typical Romagnol cuisine served at your table. It's an opportunity to discover the authentic flavors of the region in a convivial atmosphere, before and during the shows in the square.

A Festival with a Solidarity Purpose

Organized by the AVIS (Italian Association of Blood Donors) of Castel Bolognese, the Festival is not just entertainment: it is also a moment to raise awareness about blood and plasma donation, with the usual awards for deserving donors and initiatives dedicated to health and prevention. Having fun together thus becomes a way to support an important cause for the community.

Castel Bolognese and the "Summer Evenings"

The AVIS Festival is part of Castel Bolognese's rich summer program, the "Sere d'Estate" (Summer Evenings) festival, which runs from May to September, bringing dozens of events to town, including cinema, markets, cultural events, and street festivals. The AVIS event has been one of the most anticipated appointments on the calendar for years, capable of drawing many residents and visitors from the surrounding Bassa Romagna area to the square.
