Attraverso Festival is one of the most cherished cultural events in Southern Piedmont. Launched in 2016, every summer it transforms the villages, squares, courtyards, and natural amphitheatres of the UNESCO-listed lands of Langhe, Roero, and Monferrato—along with the Piedmontese Apennines—into open-air stages. With over 40 events spread across nearly 30 municipalities in the provinces of Alessandria, Asti, and Cuneo, the festival weaves together theatre, music, literature, and education into a single grand cultural map to explore during the summer.

Among the participating municipalities is Cassano Spinola, in the province of Alessandria, which hosts performances in the panoramic setting of the Belvedere San Martino in Gavazzana, a hillside hamlet overlooking the valley. The eleventh edition in 2026 revolves around the theme #pop. According to artistic directors Paola Farinetti and Simona Ressico, re-evaluating the "popular" is a duty: the festival aims to traverse all genres of performance and speak to everyone, from social theatre to great singer-songwriter music, and from historical storytelling to comedy.

In Cassano Spinola, the 2026 programme focuses on storytelling and spoken-word theatre, featuring two author-performers capable of holding an audience with the sheer power of their narrative: Stefano Massini, a world-renowned playwright and storyteller, and Domenico Iannacone, a journalist and television author who brings his theatrical reportage to the stage. Two distinct yet complementary evenings, blending emotion, current affairs, and memory.
