About Atarashi Goes to Sicily

Atarashi Goes to Sicily is the first international electronic music festival in Messina, hosted at the Arena Capo Peloro (formerly Sea Flight) in Torre Faro, at the tip of the Strait. The inaugural edition, scheduled for August 2nd and 3rd, 2026, brings some of the biggest names in the global techno and house scene to Sicily, from sunset until late at night. A long sonic journey overlooking the Strait, where music, landscape, and collective energy merge into a unique Mediterranean experience designed for an 18+ audience.

Messina's first international electronic festival

Atarashi Goes to Sicily marks the debut of a major electronic music festival in the Municipality of Messina, Sicily. Announced in March 2026 by the municipal administration, the event is the city's first international gathering of its kind, aiming to place Messina on the map of major Mediterranean electronic music circuits by blending musical quality with landscape enhancement.

A venue overlooking the Strait

The festival takes place at the Arena Capo Peloro, set up in the former Sea Flight spaces on Via Fortino in Torre Faro, at the northeastern tip of Sicily. It is one of the city's most evocative spots: the dance floor looks directly out over the Strait of Messina, with Calabria in the background, making the sunset over the sea an integral part of the show. The area, which has undergone urban redevelopment, is thus returned to the city as a space for culture and entertainment.

The inaugural line-up

The 2026 program centers on a highly anticipated back-to-back set between Marco Carola and Seth Troxler, two of the most recognizable names in international techno and house. Also on stage is Max Dean, fresh from his experience at Coachella 2026, alongside II Faces and Matteo Diop, representing the local scene. Organizers describe this as the largest event ever produced by the Atarashi project, featuring about eight hours of continuous music from the afternoon until 1:00 AM.

Atmosphere and experience

  • Gates open in the afternoon with sets continuing until late at night;
  • A single, grand live session on the Strait, combining sound, panoramic views, and a collective atmosphere;
  • Admission restricted to adults (18+);
  • A proposal aimed at making Messina a new summer destination for electronic music lovers.

Messina and the Strait as a destination

More than just a concert, Atarashi Goes to Sicily is conceived as an experience that links music to the territory of the Province of Messina. Capo Peloro, the meeting point between the Tyrrhenian and Ionian Seas, offers a unique natural backdrop. The festival aims to combine tourism, youth culture, and Mediterranean identity, contributing to the international promotion of the Sicilian city.
