Among the small villages overlooking the upper Lake Garda, Assenza is one of the most characteristic hamlets of Brenzone sul Garda, in the province of Verona. In August, its Piazza San Nicolò becomes the heart of Assenza in Festa, an evening of taste, music, and conviviality that brings together residents and tourists.
Flavours of Monte Baldo
The star of the festival is the 'carbonera', a delicious specialty made with polenta, Monte Baldo cheeses, and extra virgin olive oil: a dish that tells the story of the encounter between the lake and the mountain overlooking this stretch of coast. The food stands open from 7:00 PM and accompany the evening with specialties from the Veronese-Garda area.
Music and family atmosphere
The soundtrack is provided by a DJ set, which transforms the piazza into an open-air dance floor in a festive and family atmosphere. Assenza in Festa is one of those village festivals where the authenticity of the less touristy Garda can be felt in every detail, from the food to the company.

The 2026 edition of Assenza in Festa is scheduled for Wednesday, August 5, in Piazza San Nicolò, in the hamlet of Assenza di Brenzone sul Garda. From 7:00 PM, the food stands will offer local specialties, especially the 'carbonera' made with polenta, Monte Baldo cheeses, and extra virgin olive oil. The DJ set will provide the soundtrack for an evening of taste, music, and conviviality on the Veronese side of Lake Garda.

How to get there
Assenza, a hamlet of Brenzone sul Garda, is located along the SS249 Gardesana Orientale. By car from the A22 Brenner motorway (Affi exit). Possibility of reaching it by ferry with Lake Garda navigation.
