About Assembly of Aosta Valley Choirs

The Assembly of Choirs and Folkloric Groups of Aosta Valley is the event that every spring brings together choirs and folkloric groups from all over the Aosta Valley in Aosta. For over a week, the Collegiate Church of Saints Peter and Orso and the Splendor Theatre host children's choirs, vocal ensembles, adult formations, and groups in traditional costume, for a free-admission celebration of choral music and Aosta Valley folklore.

A choral tradition spanning decades

The Assembly of Choirs and Folkloric Groups of Aosta Valley is the main regional review dedicated to choral music and folklore of the Aosta Valley. Organized by the associations A.R.Co.Va. and Nos Racines, it brings together dozens of choirs and folkloric groups from all over the region in Aosta every year, in an event that is both a popular festival and a moment of high musical value.

The event venues

The concerts take place in two symbolic locations in the Aosta Valley capital: the Collegiate Church of Saints Peter and Orso, a jewel of sacred and Romanesque art, and the Splendor Theatre. The evenings alternate sacred polyphony in the setting of the Collegiate Church with concerts by adult choirs and folkloric groups at the theatre, with an opening usually entrusted to an international guest.

A large musical family

The review involves children's and school choirs, youth choirs, vocal ensembles, adult choirs, and folkloric groups in traditional costume: a mosaic that tells the identity of a bilingual region and the deep bond between its communities and singing. Admission is free, emphasizing the popular and participatory nature of the event, which is part of the broader 'Printemps en Musique' program.
