ARTESTATE – Summer Art Exhibition is the event that brings painting, sculpture, and visual arts to the streets of Civitella Roveto every summer. This town of just over three thousand inhabitants is nestled in the heart of the Valle Roveto, in the province of L'Aquila, in the Abruzzo region. The exhibition unfolds along Via Roma, the town's main artery, where the artists' works are displayed and opened to the public during the evening hours, when the cool mountain air invites visitors to stroll and explore.

A young but well-established event

Launched in 2024, ARTESTATE has established itself over the years as a key cultural highlight of the Roveto summer. The event brings together artists from the Marsica region and beyond, offering a widespread exhibition space that celebrates both painting and other forms of contemporary art. The stated goal is to "restart with art": bringing creativity into direct contact with the community, without the barriers of a traditional gallery.

The setting: Valle Roveto

Civitella Roveto is located in the center of the Valle Roveto, carved by the Liri River and surrounded by the Cantari Mountains, beneath Monte Viglio. It is a territory of the Marsica region rich in villages, traditions, and mountain landscapes, where summer cultural initiatives like ARTESTATE intertwine with food festivals, patronal feasts, and village life. The exhibition is part of a lively summer program, animated by the Pro Loco of Civitella Roveto and supported by the Municipality.
