Artebirra Pasturana

A beer tradition spanning over twenty years

Founded in 2003, Artebirra Pasturana has grown into a landmark event in the Italian brewing scene. Organized by the Pro Loco of Pasturana, the festival takes place every June at the Municipal Sports Center on Via Vecchia Pozzolo, in the heart of Pasturana, a town in the province of Alessandria, Piedmont. Edition after edition, the festival has successfully combined a passion for quality beer with a love for music and fine dining, attracting enthusiasts from across the Novese area and beyond.

Beer at the heart of it all

The true protagonist of the festival is the Birrificio Pasturana, a local craft brewery active since 2009. They offer a range that spans the most beloved styles: refined traditional Belgian recipes, robust Anglo-Saxon ales, and precise German-style lagers. There is no shortage of local experimentation, such as beers enriched with grape pomace and must, which highlight the bond with a land historically devoted to viticulture. Alongside the home-brewed selection, each year features guest breweries from Italy and abroad, offering the public a diverse range of flavors.

Food stalls and atmosphere

The culinary offerings are on par with the beer: the stalls open every evening at 7:00 PM, serving cold cuts and cheeses, grilled sausages, roasted pork shanks, fries, crêpes, and artisanal pizza, all paired with local products. The evenings flow with aperitifs, hot dishes, and live concerts that keep the Sports Center buzzing until late, creating the informal and friendly atmosphere that has always defined Artebirra.

More than just beer: country dancing and Vespas

The Artebirra program goes beyond just pouring pints. In recent editions, Saturday has hosted country dancing performances, while Sunday is dedicated to a scenic tour through the hills in collaboration with the Vespa Club Alessandria, providing a perfect opportunity to discover the landscapes of the Novese area on the iconic two-wheelers.

Nestled in the rolling hills between Novi Ligure and the Apennines, Pasturana is a small village in the province of Alessandria that becomes the capital of Piedmontese craft beer for a few days. Today, Artebirra is much more than a local village fair: it is a festival that celebrates the territory, its winemaking tradition, and the vibrant regional brewing scene, all in an inclusive and festive atmosphere.
