Two days of tastings featuring wines and gourmet excellence from the Agro Pontino region
The Aprilia Wine Festival is the food and wine event that celebrates the wines and typical products of the Agro Pontino every year in late May. Launched in 2025 by the Carroceto Neighborhood Committee, the event takes place in the expansive green space of the Comunità Raggio di Sole, located on Via Aldo Moro in Aprilia—a 4,000-square-meter area that turns into a grand open-air lounge for the palate for two days.
The festival offers a multisensory voyage through local flavors: wine from regional cellars is paired with pasta, pizza, focaccia, fried delicacies, zero-kilometer mozzarella, cheeses, cured meats, truffles, extra virgin olive oil, artisanal pastries, honey, gelato, and chocolate. The goal is to showcase the productive richness of a young and vibrant land like the Pontine area through the palate.
The heart of the festival lies in the wineries of the Agro Pontino and the Castelli area, which present their labels for tasting. Key participants include renowned local names:
Accompanying the wines are artisanal producers of honey, oil, cured meats, cheeses, sweets, and gelato, alongside restaurants and pizzerias participating in the RistoraAprilia initiative.
During the festival weekend, Aprilia presents itself as the «City of the Chalice»: a definition that highlights the oenological vocation of a territory that, despite its recent reclamation, has built a quality wine supply chain appreciated far beyond the borders of Lazio. As the organizers explain, the event was born «to give a voice to a vibrant productive ecosystem,» fostering encounters between producers, experts, enthusiasts, consumers, restaurateurs, and tourism operators.
As the second most populous municipality in the province of Latina, in the Lazio region, Aprilia sits in the heart of the Agro Pontino, an area reclaimed in the 1930s and now one of the most dynamic agricultural hubs in central Italy. The area is known for its grape varieties and a steadily growing wine production: the Aprilia Wine Festival is its most direct showcase, an opportunity to discover the best of the local wineries and shops in one single location.
The second edition confirmed the successful formula of the debut, expanding the number of producers involved. Across approximately 4,000 square meters in the green area of the Comunità Raggio di Sole, the public was able to taste labels from eighteen Agro Pontino wineries alongside artisanal cheeses, cured meats, truffles, oils, honey, sweets, and gelato. Enriching the offering were beers from the 29NOVE brewery and Domarc spirits.
For the occasion, Aprilia transformed into the «City of the Chalice,» with a tasting route designed to highlight the local food and wine supply chain and foster connections between producers, restaurateurs, and enthusiasts.
Two-day event, Saturday, May 23, and Sunday, May 24, 2026, from late afternoon until evening.
The green area of the Comunità Raggio di Sole is located at Via Aldo Moro 47, in Aprilia (LT). Aprilia is easily accessible by car via the Via Pontina (SS148) and the Campoverde exit, or by train along the Rome-Nettuno line, stopping at the Aprilia station.
The event takes place in the late afternoon and evening. Access to the area is free; for tastings, a kit with a personalized glass is available, which can be booked by calling +39 380 657 9365.
We recommend booking the tasting kit in advance. Numerous restaurants and pizzerias in Aprilia participate in the RistoraAprilia initiative with dedicated menus.
