A late summer festival in Anzio

The Grape and Wine Fair is one of the events that concludes the long summer season in Anzio, a town on the coast south of Rome, in Lazio. Included in the official calendar of the Municipality of Anzio, the fair is held in the central Piazza Pia, just a few steps from the harbor and the seafront, on one of the last Sundays of September, when the pace of the beach season gives way to the scents and flavors of the harvest.

Grapes, wine, and local products

The absolute stars of the day are freshly harvested grapes and local wine. Along the square, producers and local companies set up their stalls where visitors can admire the bunches, taste the wines, and purchase typical products from the Lazio countryside. Admission to the fair is free, and the atmosphere is that typical of village festivals: colorful stalls, chatting in the alleys, and the pleasure of gathering in the square.

Visiting the Grape and Wine Fair is also an opportunity to discover Anzio, a town rich in history overlooking the Tyrrhenian Sea.
