The meatball festival
The Sagra della Polpetta is one of the summer gastronomic events in Marmirolo (Province of Mantua), dedicated to a timeless classic of home cooking. At the Area delle Feste in Via di Vittorio, behind the Rossetto supermarket, for five evenings the meatball becomes the queen of the table, presented in numerous variations.
Not just meatballs
Alongside the meatballs, the kitchen offers risottos, pork knuckle, ribs, chicken, sausages, and many other specialties to satisfy all tastes. The formula is that of a village festival: kitchens open in the evening, a convivial atmosphere, free parking, and affordable prices.
Music and Miss Polpetta
Every evening the festival is enlivened by live music, DJ sets, and themed evenings, from tribute bands to Latin American music. The Thursday opening is particularly lively, with the fun Miss Polpetta competition and the DJ set, which kick off the five evenings of celebration.
Marmirolo and its festivals
A municipality in the Mantua plain, a few kilometers from the provincial capital, Marmirolo has a solid tradition of gastronomic festivals and fairs. The Sagra della Polpetta, along with the spring Risotti a Tutta Birra (Risotto with All the Beer), is one of the events that liven up the town's summer, attracting visitors from all over the province of Mantua.

From June 25 to 29, 2026, the Area delle Feste in Marmirolo will host the Sagra della Polpetta, five evenings dedicated to the famous popular cuisine dish. In the kitchen, in addition to meatballs, there will be risottos, pork knuckle, ribs, chicken, sausages, and other specialties.
Every evening features live music, DJ sets, and themed evenings (tribute bands, Latin American music). The opening on Thursday, June 25, will be enlivened by the Miss Polpetta competition and a DJ set. Free admission and free parking.
