The melon, an excellence of the Mantua region

In the heart of the Mantua plain, the Municipality of Rodigo (Province of Mantua, Lombardy) dedicates three days in June to one of the products that best represents its agriculture: the melon. The Festa del Melone was created to promote and enhance this local excellence, in an area where melon cultivation is an integral part of the local farming identity.

Piazza Ippolito Nievo celebrates

The heart of the event is Piazza Ippolito Nievo, which for three days transforms into a large space for taste and fun. There are plenty of food trucks, stands with local typical products, and games in the square designed to engage both adults and children. The melon, naturally, is the absolute star, presented in a thousand ways among the exhibitors' offerings.

Three evenings of music

Each evening, the festival takes on a different character. It ranges from a drag queen show to an '80s-90s-2000s disco night, to live Italian music, with bands and DJs animating the square until late at night. A varied program, capable of appealing to different tastes and attracting a wide audience, from families to young people.

A community celebration

Organized by the Ente Manifestazioni Rodigo, the Festa del Melone is one of the most anticipated events of the local summer. With its free entry and convivial atmosphere, it offers an opportunity to discover an authentic corner of the Mantua region and its flavors, just a few kilometers from the Mincio valleys.
